Releasing funds at the end of a deal room

The four steps that end a deal: the moderator confirms the payment, the seller delivers and marks it, the buyer approves, and the moderator sends the payout.

All deal rooms guides

A deal room does not release on one person’s say-so. Four actions have to happen in order, and the money only moves at the last one. The server enforces the order: each step is refused until the one before it has actually happened, whatever button an out-of-date app might still be drawing.

  1. The moderator confirms the payment
    Reaching “Funds locked” only means the buyer pressed “I’ve sent payment”. It is a claim. A moderator then finds the transfer on the blockchain and confirms it, and the room says so — “Moderator confirmed the payment arrived”, with the amount. Sellers: wait for that line. Do not deliver before it. The Mark-as-delivered button is refused until it exists, and that refusal is protecting you.
  2. The seller delivers and marks it delivered
    Once the payment is confirmed, hand over the files, the access, the account — then press “Mark as delivered”. The room moves to Delivered and the buyer is notified.
  3. The seller gives a payout address
    Enter the USDT address you want to be paid at, and pick the network it belongs to. The room checks the address is the right shape for that network and puts it on the record, so the moderator copies it rather than retyping it out of the chat. You can set it when you mark delivery, or any time before the payout.
  4. The buyer approves
    “Approve & release” tells the moderator the delivery is good. The room records the approval and the buyer’s part is done. Until the buyer approves, the moderator cannot release — the server refuses it.
  5. The moderator releases
    The moderator sends the payout to the seller’s address and marks the room released. The status becomes Completed and both parties get a notification.
Approval is the point of no return
Check the delivery properly before approving: log into the account, open the files, run the thing. If something is missing, do not approve — open a dispute instead, while the money is still held.

Sellers: get the payout address right

  • Use the payout address field in the room, not a chat message and never a screenshot. The room stores the address and the network together and shows the moderator a copy button.
  • Pick the right network (TRC-20, ERC-20 or BEP-20). The same “0x…” string is a valid address on two different chains, so the address alone does not say where the money should go.
  • Use an address you control, and read it back character by character. Payouts sent on-chain cannot be recalled.
  • You can change it any time before the payout — the room posts the change so both sides can see it.

For account handovers, do the boring checks before you approve: change the recovery email and phone yourself, move two-factor onto your own device, and confirm the previous owner has no sessions left.
